  • Promote your product on wood

Why promote your non-ordinary product in a ordinary way?  The idea is to stand out above other products and catch the eye of the consumer.  Oatly, the latest and greatest oat milk that is making it's debut in America had the right idea.  Oatly reached out to us to print custom wood signs for coffee shops throughout United States that carry their fabulous milk product.

This small sign carries a big message and is easy to place on a shelf, near the register or on a ledge in any coffee establishment.

So what is the new craze that has hit the US market?  This Swedish oat milk has taken 25 years to create and perfect and it taste amazing!  Now your coffee will be raised to a whole level of deliciousness.  "The idea behind Oatly was to find a way to make a nutritious liquid product for people who just didn’t like cow’s milk or were unwilling to use it for personal reasons. Today, the concept of producing a drink directly from oats instead of first feeding oats to a cow and letting the cow process them into milk is an option but back when we started in the 1990's most people thought we were totally crazy. That’s okay, we are happy to be right where we are now making quality liquid oat products for you to enjoy. Thank you very much."

What is great is that Oatly wanted to promote its natural product on a natural product, wood.  It's simple, yet profound. These wood signs come with a stand slot in the back and are lightweight, easy to move around and easy to keep clean.

Look for these signs next time you are out getting your caffeine fix.  A new way to enhance your latte has just arrived, the Oatly way.

  • Artist Spotlight - Charlie Immer

This month's artist spotlight goes to, envelope please...Charlie Immer.  Who is this fun artist who's artwork displays globs of goo with a fun twist? Charlie Immer is an American fine artist and illustrator. He was born in 1983 and lives in Maryland with a collection of skeletons and candy. Drawing inspiration from horror films, cartoons, nature, candy, and video games, Charlie enjoys dissecting his subjects which creates a contrast between colorful simple characters and the complex beauty of the anatomy within them. His work has been shown across the nation and has appeared been featured in magazines like Juxtapoz and Hi-Fructose. Immer holds a BFA in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design.

Prints on Wood recently released one of Charlie's art pieces called "Fester" and it sold out quickly.

Fester has a colorful array of globs that add a sense of humor to a complex image.  Why make the blood typical red when other color options are so much more appealing?  That is one of the traits that Charlie brings to his work.

"The contrast of the smooth bodies and the complex systems beneath spilling out is very appealing to me. As I’m painting I also try to assign flavors to my characters like blueberry and green apple.” – Charlie Immer

Lets take a look at some other fun prints by Charlie.

What is so unique about Charlie as an artist is the ability to incorporate horror images with a cartoonish flair.  You will see a commonality of the use with skeletons in his artwork.

Prints on Wood is thrilled to have had this opportunity to offer "Fester" to art fans and look forward to working with Charlie again in the future.

  • Artist Spotlight - Amy Hamilton

This month's artist spotlight is Canadian artist Amy Hamilton who is inspired by wildlife and the great outdoors. Using both digital and traditional mediums, the graphic designer and illustrator’s work features dream-like animal portraits and nature-inspired artwork. Drips, splatters, and layered brushstrokes give life and movement to her illustrations as she aims to capture the untamed beauty of nature.

Lets take a look at some of Amy's beautiful work that are available to you through Prints on Wood.

Amy's amazing ability to capture the animal in movement with an airy sense is magical.

Here the drips of paint represent the antlers of the moose and stags which gives the painting an imperfect, but perfect touch.

Capturing these birds in flight with an array of colors is stunning, and the details that Amy gives these beautiful creatures is breathtaking.  No matter what your style of decor in your home is, the prints can give your home a sense of nature and wonderment.

Amy's appreciation of nature gives her the ability to capture the animals' life in its eyes, almost as though they are looking right at you.  Here you can almost feel the gentleness of this fawn and sit in awe of its innocence.

These are just a few images that Amy has to offer, there are so many to choose from. Stop and enjoy the beauty of nature in Amy's brushstrokes and be mesmerized by her visions.

With prints on the other end of the spectrum; the kind of artwork that makes a political statement. Artist Ploid of "Stay Woke" (pictured below) says on his Facebook bio page that "It is my desire to break apart and examine our unconscious, assumed notions of interpersonal politics." • Hang with Hangar24

Hangar24 Craft Brewery is located in Redlands, California and has been around for years! They recently reached out to us with a special project… recreating their flight trays! Many breweries have very standard looking flight trays and Hangar24 wanted something more unique to their brand. If you aren’t too familiar with what a flight is, it’s simply a sampling of several drinks. Most companies offer a flight option to enable their customers to try a bit of everything they have to offer. It’s a great way to introduce more of your products.

Photo Courtesy of Huy. Y (Yelp)

Here is a photo of Hangar24’s flight current flight tray. It gets the job done but it’s not very unique and doesn’t say much about their brand. It could be anyone’s flight! If someone posted this photo onto their Instagram, you wouldn’t know where they got it from because it doesn’t say anything about Hangar24.

Our team worked with an idea that Hangar24 presented for their new, improved flight tray and brought it to life. The new flight tray is designed around their logo. In fact, the entire top of the flight tray is the logo! The shape is different than anything you’ve seen before. Hangar24 was created with the passion for good beer and a love for flying so of course their flight tray should have wings! Our team printed their logo onto wood and had it cut to form the shape of their logo. Then holes were cut for the drinks and slits were cut to hold informational cards about the drinks offered in the flight.

On the bottom of the flight tray we have four pegs holding it up. Very simple idea but the wood design makes the flight tray look extremely clean and matches Hangar24’s brand well.

Here is the completed flight tray with glasses in it! This is just our first run of the custom wood project. We still have a few things to clean up and a few more adjustments to make to the tray, but we are very satisfied with the outcome so far. Will definitely be posting photos of the finished product when it is complete. Don’t forget to go ahead and check them out yourselves when we finish them at Hangar24! Take lots of photos and send them our way!
