According to Greek Mythology THE SEIRENES (or Sirens) were three sea nymphs who lured sailors to their death with a bewitching song. My painting was one of a collection of recent pieces which explored humanity and psychology through mythical characters. My paintings attempt to express this struggle especially through innocence. In this particular piece, the young Seiren unintentionally, sinks a galleon and lovingly holds it close like a toy. Her naivety coupled with such power causing devastation, much like a human child innocently killing ants.
